I ordered two of these for my husband and me to take on an international trip next month. They will fit nicely into our luggage. We’ll be ready for yoga after long days of touring. We have also used them on top of our yoga mats here at home. They are a great addition to our yoga practices.

This mat is great for what it is advertised as – a convenient travel mat. The size it folds down to is amazingly easy to pack. However, it is quite thin and not substantial (padding not strength) so if you are used to a “normal” yoga mat – this is not the same. I would never use this mat at home as I prefer my regular yoga mat for that. However, bringing a rolled tube along for each business trip is not realistic for most people. Further, there is the knowledge that you are bringing your own mat from a sanitation perspective. The mat functions properly if your hotel room is carpeted. I also found it useful to place a couple of towels beneath it for added comfort. I would recommend this mat for travel if you want to continue with your yoga practice on the road. Hotel floors can be notoriously undercleaned (as in deep-cleaned), and this mat provides the ease of packing travelers need.

I have not used this mat as a travel mat but I have used it in place of a yoga towl over my regular mat. It is way better than other yoga towel brands which are much more expensive and don’t have a lot of traction. There is high quality rubber on the back to prevent it from slipping and it is great for high intensity power classes. I highly recommend this over a yogitoes towel.

I bought this mat in hopes that it would inspire me to do yoga during business travel by protecting me from yukky hotel carpets. It worked! The mat is very thin, so don’t expect cushion for your knees, but as most hotel rooms are carpeted, I don’t feel that this is a problem. My biggest concern was whether it would fold up small enough to fit in my bag. I like to pack very light. It is perfect. It folds up to about the size and shape of a couple of t-shirts or a pair of jeans. It was so wonderful to stretch away the 10 hour flight when I finally got to my hotel. I was a little concerned about slipping on the soft towel-like surface, but my hands and feet stay put. I highly recommend this mat!
