I cannot give a complete answer as I'm not a specialist and even a expert on this would need to know from which country you are, as the tax agreements between Belgium and your country can influence the taxes you pay and where you pay them.
Are you already working for an international bank and will you be detached to a Belgian branch of that firm? In that case you will be some kind of expat and can get lower Belgian taxes or even none. If not and you are coming to Belgium and sign a contract here and live here, then I am afraid you can be taxed as any other inhabitant of Belgium. Indeed that is around 50%
So, ask your (future) employer if you will be detached or expat, or just an ordinary inhabitant of Belgium working in Brussels. When you know this you can ask tax experts or ever the HR department of the bank in Brussels what will be the tax consequences.
Cost of living: depends where you live (in Brussels or 20km outside it), in a one room studio or a flat with a separate bedroom or even a house... If you want a clean and comfortable flat and rent it on your own you will easily pay € 750/month or more. If you want a nice house in the green outskirts of Brussels you have to pay up to € 2000.
Eating and drinking: if you buy smart and cook yourself that costs you € 200.
